April 1, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release
As a community owned team, staying active in the community is extremely important to all of us at the Jackals. March was our busiest month this season. Our staff and players were able to participate in many unique events in the past few weeks and were able to meet many of you, our amazing fans. We hope you enjoyed seeing us around in March, and we look forward to continuing to interact with you during April.
Elsmere Eagles Game at GST BOCES
The Jackals made their way up the road to GST BOCES in Horseheads on the first of the month to take on the Elsmere Eagles in a game of Ringette. The Elsmere Eagles are made up of a group of students, from local high schools, who have developmental disabilities and take to hockey in a way that maximizes their potential to be independent.
This is an annual event held at the GST BOCES gym between the Eagles and Jackals, and we look forward to seeing them again next year!

ARC of Chemung Commercial
The ARC of Chemung showed up shortly after practice on March 8th to get ready for our "ARC of Chemung Night" at First Arena on March 18th. The ARC and Elmira Jackals Art Director, Danielle Alred, created a promotional video with the help of Elmira Jackals players, Mark Bennett, Ian Young and Cason Hohmann. The March 18th game went great, and we thank all of our dedicated fans who showed up as the Jackals beat the Manchester Monarchs 4-2.
Celebrity Bartending at Elmira Hiberians Club
A few Jackals players and staff headed to the Elmira Hiberians Club on Elmira's Southside on the 9th. The players tended the bar, and made friends with some of our local Irish Catholics. The Elmira Hiberians Club worked with us on our St. Patrick's Day Celebration at our March 11th game. The guys loved the experience of tending bar, and had an overall great time at the club.

Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Calls
Jackals players have been working hard on and off the ice this month to make our fans happy. We have spent a few days after practice calling Season Ticket Holders who renewed for the Early Bird pricing for the 2016-2017 season. Thank you to all of our fans, and especially our dedicated Season Ticket Holders, for your support throughout the season. We couldn't be more grateful.
Booster Club Activity
The Elmira Jackals Booster Club works hard to keep our players and fans happy. This month the guys spent time personalizing items to sell and raffle off at upcoming Jackals games.

Bradford County YMCA
The Jackals took a little road trip to Towanda, PA to visit the Bradford Count YMCA, to play floor hockey. The Bradford YMCA has an after school program for elementary students called Strong Kids, Strong Minds. It includes a few different elements including cooking class, craft class, fit kids, and character building.

Spiro Goulakos, Darcy Murphy, Matt Prapevessis, and CJ Motte made their way to Troy on the 23rd to visit the elementary, intermediate and high schools for a Meet and Greet.

Blazin' Challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings
Zach Cohen, Josh Chapman, Ian Young, and Mark Bennett took on members of the Elmira Fire Department on the 23rd, in a Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin' Challenge. The Blazin' Challenge was held to benefit local Elmira Volunteer firefighter and men's league hockey player, Jay Heverly, who has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. All money raised for the challenge was donated to the Heverly family.

Celebrity Serving at Outback Steakhouse
A few Jackals players spent the evening of the 30th at the local Outback Steakhouse in Horseheads, NY serving some of your Outback favorites. 10% of sales from Wednesday's dinner will be donated to our local Children's Miracle Network.

Diven Elementary Catch of the Day
Blade stopped by Diven Elementary School to see his Dolphin friends at the end on the month. Diven Elementary has developed a program, Good Kid Patrol "Catch of the Day." All Good Kid Patrols earned on the "Catch of the Day," have their name put into the main office. Once a month, 10 names are pulled from the net and those students are awarded 4 tickets each to an upcoming Jackals game. We love rewarding our local youth for making good choices and making their schools a better place. Congrats Diven Elementary, keep up the good work!
