Cason Hohmann Heads to Rochester

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that rookie forward and leading scorer Cason Hohmann has been recalled by Rochester.

Hohmann, 23, earns his first AHL call-up of the season with his recall to Rochester. The rookie forward leaves the Jackals as the team's leading scorer with 54 points in 56 games. Hohmann also leads the team with 36 assists and is tied for the team lead with nine power-play assists. The 5-foot-9 175-pound forward ranks second among league rookies in points and is tied for third in assists. Hohmann was named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for the week of February 22-28 and was named a runner-up for the CCM Rookie of the Month in November and February.

Prior to turning pro, Hohmann amassed 92 points (32 goals, 60 assists) in 145 NCAA games for Boston University. As a senior, the Arlington, Texas native helped lead the Terriers to the NCAA National Championship game and the Hockey East Conference title while setting a career high with 11 goals.

Before attending Boston University, Hohmann skated for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League (USHL). He recorded 92 points (31 goals, 61 assists) in 113 games and appeared in the USHL All-Star Game in 2010-11 season.
