Kansas City Mavericks News Release

INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI - The Missouri Mavericks fell 3-2 to the Allen Americans on Friday night at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.

The Mavs have already clinched home ice advantage in the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs and will play their first post-season two on Saturday, Apr. 16 (7:05p.m.) and Sunday, Apr. 17 (4:05p.m.). Tickets for these games will go on sale at 10:00a.m. on Monday, Apr. 4th.

Missouri made the first mark of the game exactly 7:00 into the first period while the Mavs were on the power-play. Darian Dziurzynski scored his twenty-fourth goal of the season with the help of rookie Darren Nowick and defenseman Bryce Aneloski to give the Mavs a 1-0 lead that they would carry into the second frame.

Allen tied the game up midway through the second period via David Makowski, and then took the lead at 3:45 of the third period when Vincent Arseneau found his way around the Mavs defense and put away a power-play goal.

Sebastien Sylvestre answered back with Missouri's own man-advantage tall at 5:26, taking a perfect set-up from Andrew Courtney and Scott Howes to light the lamp for the fourth time in the Mavs last four games.

All tied up 2-2, Missouri looked to take back control the scoreboard through the remainder of regulation, but Makowski was the only one of the ice to find twine, besting Parker Milner for a 3-2 Americans lead at 13:29 of the final frame.

The Mavericks left the ice with a 3-2 loss, only their twelfth defeat of the season.

Parker Milner made 24 saves between the pipes for the Mavs through 59:14 of play.

Missouri gets their shot at redemption tomorrow night at 7:05p.m. when they once again host the Allen Americans at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com and in-person at the arena box office.

The Mavericks game-worn warm-up jerseys, presented by Long John Silver's/A&W restaurants, will be auctioned-off in a live auction tomorrow night with proceeds benefitting Make-A-Wish© Missouri.
