Nailers Look To End Weekend With Win In Johnstown

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Wheeling Nailers look to conclude their weekend road trip with a win over rival Johnstown this afternoon. Faceoff is set for 2:35 p.m. The live radio broadcast of the game can be heard on The Mix 97.3 FM or by logging on to wheelingnailers.com.

The Nailers are currently in fourth place in the North Division with 57 points, three points behind the Johnstown Chiefs who are in second place.

Bryan "Boomer" Ewing returned to the Nailers lineup last night from his week-long stint with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Ewing made an immediate impact, scoring two first-period goals for the Nailers against the Dayton Bombers. Wheeling, however went on to suffer a 4-2 loss to Dayton.

The Nailers' next home stand is Feb. 27-28 when they host Dayton and Trenton, respectively. The Feb. 27 game is Friday Family Four Pack Night, where families receive four tickets, four sodas, four hotdogs and one large popcorn for just $44. In addition, a collector poster will be given away to the first 2,500 fans in attendance. A Coal Miner Spike Bobble Head will be given away to the first 2,500 fans in attendance at the Feb. 28 game.

Last Time Out

Wheeling: Bryan Ewing scored two first-period goals for the Nailers in his first game back with the team after spending a week with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Ewing's goals weren't enough, however, as the Nailers fell to Dayton, 4-2.

Johnstown: The Chiefs defeated the Trenton Devils last night, 3-2. Center Toby LaFrance gave the Chiefs the game-winning goal late in the third on a power play.
