Nailers Help Celebrate 100th Day of School

Dillonvale, OH- The Wheeling Nailers took part in Hilltop Elementary School's 100th Day Celebration, Wednesday in Dillonvale, OH. Forwards Vin Hellemeyer and Richard Colwill, as well as broadcaster Brendan Burke and Spike, the mascot, were present at the festivities.

The Nailers spoke to the kids about what it takes to be a professional hockey player and the importance of an education in their lives. After a question-and-answer session in the gym, the school, of about 150 students, moved outside to release balloons into the air.

Players from the Nailers have made other visits this week as well. Curtiss Patrick and Mark Malone paid a visit to St.Francis School in Moundsville, WV to speak with kids while Joe Jensen and Brian Gratz took part in a health fair at St. Vincent De Paul on Monday.

The Nailers next home game is Saturday night at 8p.m. against the Cincinnati Cyclones. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a Nailers T-shirt.
