JOHNSTOWN, PA -- Ben Street and Nick Petersen put in four point efforts to lead the Wheeling Nailers to an impresive 7-2 victory over the Giwnnett Gladiators Friday night at the Cambira County War Memorial.

Street gave the Nailers a quick 2-0 lead on a pair of goals set up by Nick Petersen. Doug Rogers scored the first of his two goals on the night at 11:36 of the first to extend the Nailers lead to 3-0. Halfway through the second, Petersen set up Casey Pierro Zabotel with a goal, giving Wheeling a commanding 4-0 lead.

The Gladiators used the power play to get on the board, as Michael Davies scored on a shot from the top of the crease, which beat Nailers goaltender Patrick Killeen. However, Wheeling continued to pull away, when Mikael Bedard centered a feed in the slot to Joey Haddad, who ripped the puck past Gwinnett goaltender Billy Sauer, to make the score 5-1. Danick Paquette pulled Gwinnett within three, on a slapshot goal from the slot at 3:50 of the third period.

The Nailers refused to let up down the stretch, as Doug Rogers and Jason Desantis scored goals in the games final ten minutes to secure the 7- 2 victory. Ben Street finished with two goals and two assists, while Nick Petersen tallied four assists. Rogers scored a goal and added to helpers in the win.

The two teams meet again tomorrow night at the Cambria County War Memorial, beginning at 7:35 p.m. Tune into The Mix 97.3, or online at wheelingnailers.com.
