
Nailers Acquire Smyth From Idaho

Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announce today that they have acquired forward Jon Smyth from Idaho for cash considerations. Smyth, 24, played the last four years at Colgate University.
The 6-foot-0, 195-pound native of Markham, Ontario put up 51 goals and 61 assists in 151 career games, while at Colgate.
As a junior, he was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and as a sophomore, he was named the ECAC's best defensive forward while recording 21 goals and 21 assists in 38 games.
He will join the Nailers on this weekend's road trip to Cincinnati.
The Nailers return home on Wednesday, November 22 to take on Trenton. Jeff Reed and Bryant McFadden from the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers will be on hand, signing autographs.
