Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. - T.J. Trevelyan recorded his sixth goal of the season, beating three Phoenix RoadRunners before going top shelf scoring an unassisted shorthanded goal over the glove of the Phoenix net minder Josh Tordjman with 4:45 left in the third period to give the Ice Dogs their first win of the season at the Long Beach Arena Wednesday night topping Phoenix 4-3.

The Ice Dogs hadn't had a goal from any of their defenseman all season long....until tonight. Defenseman Gabriel Proulx scored two goals, one of them on the power play, and Defenseman Jeff Mason added a goal on the power play. The Ice Dogs had a 2-1 lead after the first period which marked the first time the Dogs had a lead going into an intermission.

Phoenix battled back several times but never led in the game. Phoenix forward Scott May tied things up at 3-3 at 10:05 of the third period before Trevelyan scored his goal. With Gary Gladue in the box for cross checking, Trevelyan skated with the puck in the neutral zone after an interception and flew down the right wing boards. Trevelyan danced his way around three defenders and went top shelf from the left wing circle at 15:15 of the third period.

Notes: Rick Adduono recorded his first win behind the Ice Dogs bench and now has 250 wins in the ECHL. The Ice Dogs went 2-11 on the PP, the RoadRunners 1-4. T.J. Trevelyan has a 6 game point streak with 6g-3a-9 points over that span. Gabriel Proulx extended his point streak to 3 games with 2g-2a-4 points.
