Game #1 of a 3-game series vs Fresno Falcons
Thursday, November 9, 2006
LAST GAME:
The Salmon Kings rounded out the three-game series versus Las Vegas with an exhilarating eight round shoot out. Rookie Goaltender Bryan Bridges made 37 saves during the regulation and six straight saves during the shoot out session, and Victoria native Ryan Wade earned the winning shoot out goal.
Victoria head into the second period facing a one goal deficit, but earned two goals within six minutes part way through the period. Captain Kiel McLeod capitalized on a Wes Goldie pass, and earned his fifth goal of the season, and Steve Lingren fired a shot past Las Vegas Goaltender Mike McKenna to earn his first goal of the season.
With 22 seconds remaining in the second, Las Vegas tied the score 2-2 while on the powerplay. A scoreless third period and Overtime led to the extensive shoot out, in which the Salmon Kings earned their second straight win in Las Vegas and won the series.

KEY POINTS/MILESTONES
- Defenseman Steve Lingren earned his first goal and multi-point game of the season.
- Bryan Bridges notched his first shoot out win in professional hockey, and a pro career best 0.949 save percentage.
