Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Cleveland, OH-Forward Chris Mueller capped a great weekend against his former club with his second straight two-goal game, including the game-winning shorthanded goal with 1:07 to play, as the Admirals defeated the Lake Erie Monsters Saturday afternoon.

Mueller stole the puck from Monsters forward Ryan Stoa and skated in on a breakaway. Going backhand, he slid the puck under the pads of Lake Erie netminder Trevor Cann.

The win gave goalie Milwaukee Jeremy Smith his first career AHL win. Smith stopped 25 of 27 shots in his first AHL start.

Milwaukee has won five straight and has points in six consecutive games.

Mueller scored his third goal in two games against Lake Erie when an errant clearing pass was intercepted by Milwaukee's Gabriel Bourque. Bourque fed Mueller skating from the right corner and he deked Cann for the backhanded tally at 5:59 of the first period. It was Mueller's fourth goal of the season.

The Monsters tied the game with a shorthanded goal at 16:17 when Mike Carman's pressure forced a turnover and, subsequently, a Carman goal. The goal ended a span of 188:51 for the Admirals without allowing a goal. The franchise record is 193 minutes set in February 2001, the team's last season in the IHL.

Milwaukee reclaimed the lead with a 4-on-4 goal from defenseman Roman Josi. Josi held the zone at the right point and headed to the net where he lifted a shot over the glove of Cann for his first North American goal. Jamie Lundmark and Matt Halischuk recorded assists.

Lake Erie tied the game on a Justin Mercier wrister through traffic at 8:26 of the third period.

Milwaukee continues its ten-game road trip Friday at San Antonio. The Ads don't return to the Bradley Center until Wednesday, December 1st at 7:00 pm against the Manitoba Moose.
