November 13, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release

GLEN FALLS NY - The Abbotsford Heat have won five in a row, this time doubling up the Adirondack Phantoms 4-2 in AHL action on Saturday night in upstate New York.

Jon Rheault, JD Watt, Bryan Cameron and Lance Bouma scored in the win for the Heat, who held leads of 1-0 after one and 3-1 after forty minutes. Leland Irving picked up his tenth win of the season.

Jon Rheault scored midway thru the first period on a Heat line change. Rheault slid into the Phantom's zone and wired a shot past Johan Backlund, blocker side to open the scoring at 6:23. The Heat would outshoot the Phantoms 13-3 in the first period and hold a 1-0 lead.

In the second after Erik Gustafson scored his first of two goals on the game on a Phantom's power play, JD Watt would restore the lead. Following his own rebound, Watt snapped a shot thru the legs of Backlund to restore the Abbotsford lead midway thru the second. Late in the period, on a Heat power play, rookie Bryan Cameron would give the Heat a two goal lead, converting a goalmouth pass from Jon Rheault to make the score 3-1 Heat thru two periods.

In the final period, the Heat would run into penalty troubles, leading to Gustafson scoring his second of the night with just under eight minutes to play. Despite that pressure, Abbotsford would shut the Phantoms down, as Bouma added an empty netter in the final seconds to preserve the win.

The Heat will head back to Providence to try and sweep the Bruins and stretch their win streak to six. You can catch all the action on Country 107.1 FM and AHL Live! The pregame show from Rhode Island will start at 12:45 PM, with the drop of the puck at 1 PM PST.
