Toledo Mud Hens News Release

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Toledo Mud Hens score 13 runs Wednesday at Coca-Cola Park for their seventh shutout win of the season.

Evening the series against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and claiming their third win over the IL North Division foe, the Mud Hens finish with their highest run total in a single-game since June 26.

Toledo was also six hits shy of tying the season-high done on May 25 at Louisville.

Matt Hall (5-3, 4.85 ERA) got his first win after being a non-factor in 11 straight appearances. The 2015 Detroit Tigers sixth-round draft pick tossed six scoreless innings, surrendering six hits but walking none, while striking out seven.

Hall joins John Schreiber and Ryan Carpenter for the most wins among active Mud Hens pitchers.

Starter Seth McGarry (0-2, 6.10 ERA) was one-of-six pitchers who took the mound Wednesday for Lehigh Valley. McGarry would take the loss after giving up three runs on six hits in three innings.

The Mud Hens jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning that began with Pete Kozma clearing the bases on a line drive two-run RBI double to left.

Kozma, who got his ninth start at shortstop, would pick up his first extra-base hit since last week's Durham series. Jacob Robson led off the inning by collecting his 16th double of the season.

After both Kozma and Daz Cameron stole a base to set up runners in scoring position, another diamond clearing RBI hit from Dawel Lugo resulted in the IronPigs making their second bullpen change.

McGarry left following the Kozma double as reliever Connor Brogdon lasted for only two outs.

Robson earlier upped his league-leading stolen base total to 20 in the second inning.

Two of the three runs scored by Toledo in the sixth came off wild pitches allowing Lugo and Ronny Rodriguez to touch home.

Rodriguez would hit his seventh RBI in his last seven starts on a ground ball single to left for the 5-0 lead.

The eighth inning saw Cameron and Danny Woodrow each doubling for two-run RBIs with Robson and Dustin Peterson contributing to the six-run affair.

Woodrow's hitting streak has extended to 12 games and is now eight away from tying the league-high done by Harold Castro from April 15-May 23.

Cameron is one double away from tying Victor Reyes and Lugo with 19 on the season. Willi Castro is the current team-leader at 21.

Bryan Garcia finished with three strikeouts in his two innings pitched, having allowed just two hits on 35 pitches, as Caleb Thielbar closed out the ninth.

Beau Burrows (1-4, 4.73 ERA) is probable to start Thursday in the final of a three-game series against the IronPigs.
