
Mud Hens Claim Second Straight Walk-Off Win

TOLEDO - The Toledo Mud Hens defeated the St. Paul Saints in walk-off fashion in 10 innings, 10-9. The win was the Mud Hens' 13th walk-off win.
The winning run would come home on a Jamie Westbrook sacrifice fly. Jack Lopez led the way offensively, picking up two hits, being a go-ahead three-run inside-the-park home run in the 2nd inning, and a game-tying RBI double in the 6th inning. Lopez finished with a home run, a double and four RBI. John Valente also had a two hit performance, including a go-ahead two run double in the 6th inning, to finish with two hits and two RBI. Josh Lester hit his 26th home run as his lone hit, picking up two RBI in the process. Chris Rabago and Westbrook each tallied a base hit, an RBI and two runs scored. Daz Cameron doubled and scored to round out the offensive performance.
Bubba Derby got the start for the Mud Hens, going 1.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits, one walk and one strikeout. Joe Navilhon would follow, pitching 2.1 innings, allowing three runs on three hits, one home run, two walks and two strikeouts. Nick Kuzia would make his Mud Hens debut, notching a blown save, pitching 1.0 inning, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits. Zac Houston would be the next reliever in the game, pitching 1.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits, one walk and three strikeouts. Cody Sedlock would be the fifth reliever, pitching 1.1 innings, striking out two_._ Angel De Jesus would come on to pitch, pitching 1.0 inning, tallying one walk and one strikeout. Drew Carlton would be the seventh and final Mud Hens pitcher to appear in the game. Carlton would pitch 1.0 inning, striking out two batters on his way to the win, elevating his season record to 3-2.
What's Next - The Toledo Mud Hens will play host the the St. Paul Saints for the final time in 2022 on Sunday, looking to claim the series, with first pitch coming at 2:05 pm EST on September 11, 2022 at Fifth Third Field.
