Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today that RW Pascal Morency has been recalled by the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
Morency, 29, gets his second opportunity with Houston this season. He played three games with the Aeros at the end of December and beginning of January. In those games, Morency picked up 7 PIM. Hehas been an offensive threat for the Condors this season, as his 17 goals places him second on the team. He has also racked up 117 PIM on the season, and recorded his first career hat trick on November 3 against Alaska.
The Montreal, QC native becomes the second Condor to earn an AHL call-up this week, joining G Josh Tordjman who was recalled on Tuesday. Morency spent the previous three seasons exclusively with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, also of the AHL. He played 108 games over those three seasons, earning 8 points (4g,4a) and 423 PIM.
Along with Morency and Tordjman, LW Brad Snetsinger is currently in the AHL with the Binghamton Senators. D Joey Ryan and F Slava Trukhno have also been called up to AHL teams from the Condors this season. G Brian Stewart, C Joel Broda, and C Pete Zingoni round out Condors who have spent time in both the AHL and the ECHL this year.
The Aeros have a busy four-game week, including hosting Rockford tonight. They play three teams in three days this weekend, hosting Syracuse on Friday, traveling to Texas on Saturday, and returning home to face Abbotsford on Sunday.
Upcoming Schedule:
The Condors take a week away from home ice as they travel to Victoria for games tonight, Friday and Saturday. They return home for a three game series against the Idaho Steelheads, starting on Tuesday, March 8. The Condors are hosting a Canned Food Drive, courtesy of My 45, 96.5 Max FM, and Payment Systems Worldwide. Fans who donate two non-perishable food items can receive $1.00 Terrace Admission to the game.
