Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced on Wednesday that they have received forwards Yannick Tifu and Corey Cowick and goaltender Garrett Zemlak from their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, and defenseman Eric Regan from their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Tifu, who was recalled by Binghamton on Tuesday, is second on the Jackals with 57 points and is on a four-game point streak (4g-4a). He had game-winning goals in consecutive contests on Saturday and Sunday as Elmira defeated Reading and Trenton at First Arena. The Brossard, Quebec native will play in his 399th professional game tonight as the Jackals host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 p.m.

Cowick was reassigned to the Jackals from the B-Sens by the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday. The rookie from Gloucester, Ontario has five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 29 games with Elmira in the 2010-2011 season. Cowick recorded his first AHL goal on Saturday against Rochester. He was drafted by Ottawa in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Zemlak made his AHL debut for Binghamton on Sunday after being loaned to the B-Sens by the Jackals on that same day. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan product made 24 saves on 28 shots as Binghamton fell to Adirondack, 5-2, to end the week. With the Jackals, Zemlak is 1-2-0-1.

Regan rejoins the Jackals after being reassigned by the Anaheim Ducks to the Crunch on Feb. 9. The third-year pro from Whitby, Ontario is tied for fifth among ECHL defensemen with 30 points (9g-21a), one year after he was second among the league's blue-liners with 50 points (16g-34a).
