Haddad & Schnell Reassigned to Wheeling

WHEELING, WV ‚¬" The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned left wing Joey Haddad from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced on Wednesday. Additionally, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have reassigned forward Ryan Schnell to Wheeling.

Haddad, 22, posted four points (1g, 3a) in 16 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. In 34 games with Wheeling this season, Haddad has totaled 27 points (14g, 13a). Last season, the native of Sydney, NS scored 20 points in 34 games with the Nailers, while appearing in 29 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton scoring a goal and adding five assists.

Schnell, 22, returns to Wheeling as the team's leader in penalty minutes this season with 140. The Cary, Illinois native, also has posted four points (2g, 2a) in 30 games with the Nailers. The 6-3, 225-lb. forward amassed 29 penalty minutes in nine games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he scored his first career AHL goal on February 13 against the Hershey Bears.

Both Haddad and Schnell are expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Nailers travel to Elmira to take on the Jackals at 7:05 p.m. Fans may tune into the game on The Mix 97.3, or watch the game on RTV9. The Nailers return to WesBanco Arena on Friday against division rival Cincinnati. Game time is 7:35 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a free Brad Paisley Bobble Head.
