
K-Wings' Daavettila Named Player of the Month

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce forward Trent Daavettila has been named the Reebok ECHL Player of the Month for February.
Daavettila, who earned the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month yesterday for the month of February for leading the league with a plus-15, earns the team's first-ever ECHL player of the month award.
The native of Howell, Michigan scored 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists) in 14 games during February, paving the way for the K-Wings to a 10-2-0-2 record for the month.
Named the ECHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 13th, Daavettila had six multi-point games during the month and he scored at least one point in 11 of his 14 games during the February to propel the K-Wings into first place in the North Division.
Highlighting Daavettila month, were a four-point night (3 goals, 1 assist), which including his first professional hat trick in an 8-5 win against Greenville on February 12th contest a Wings Stadium and another four-point outing to close the month, where he set the K-Wings' season-high for assists in a single-game with four in a 5-4 win over Toledo on February 27th at the Huntington Center.
Daavettila enters the month of March with a seven-game point streak (2 goals-12 assists) and a K-Wings season-high seven-game assist streak.
So far this season, Daavettila has 60 points (21 goals, 39 assists) in 55 games to rank fifth in the league while his are tied for third in assists.
Kalamazoo will finish their brief two-game road swing at the Huntington Center against the Toledo Walleye during the State Line Face-Off Series, presented by AmeriGas, America's Propane Company this Friday, March 4th at 7 p.m. during the Walleye's "Pink in the Rink" Pink Ice Game.
The K-Wings will return home to Wings Stadium next Sunday, March 6th with a 4 p.m. face-off versus the reigning Kelly Cup Champions, Cincinnati Cyclones during another Family Hockey Day in the 'ZOO and Stars Wars Night.
During all Sunday home games kids (12 and under) eat FREE. This Sunday, the first 500 kids will also receive a FREE inflatable megaphone courtesy of Kalsee Credit Union.
