Alaska's Courchaine Named ECHL Goaltender of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Adam Courchaine of the Alaska Aces has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month for February. Courchaine went 7-0-1 with a 2.67 goals-against average and a save percentage of .903 in nine appearances for the Aces, helping Alaska move into first place in the Mountain Division with an overall record of 33-19-3 for 69 points.
The 22 year old won seven consecutive starts from Feb. 5 through Feb. 25, including three straight starts where he made at least 32 saves. He stopped 35 shots in regulation and overtime, and turned aside all five shootout attempts, in a 6-5 shootout win against Idaho on Feb. 19; made 32 saves in a 4-3 victory against Las Vegas on Feb. 24 and had 35 saves in a 4-3 overtime win against the Wranglers on Feb. 25.
In 21 games with the Aces this season, Courchaine is 12-6-2 with two shutouts, a 2.51 goals-against average and a save percentage of .903.
Courchaine appeared in 126 games over three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Ottawa, Sarnia and Erie posting a record of 50-60-8 with seven shutouts, a 3.25 goals-against average and a save percentage of .904. He has also appeared in four career American Hockey League games with Providence going 2-1-0 with a goals-against average of 2.06 and a .915 save percentage.
