Montreal Reassigns Alex Henry To Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Alex Henry has been reassigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Henry, 29, competed in two games with Montreal registering 10 penalty minutes after being recalled by the club on February 1st. He has played in 47 games with the Bulldogs this season, recording eight points (two goals, six assists) along with 70 penalty minutes. The native of Elliot Lake, Ontario spent last season with the Milwaukee Admirals posting a total of 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) along with 142 penalty minutes in 80 games. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound defenceman has played in a total of 177 games in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers, Washington Capitals, Minnesota Wild and Montreal Canadiens registering 11 points (two goals, nine assists) along with 269 penalty minutes. Henry was selected in the 3rd round, 67th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hamilton Bulldogs host the Syracuse Crunch tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.
