Griffins Sign Mike Walsh

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Wednesday signed right wing Mike Walsh to a professional tryout.
Walsh, 26, has tallied 29 points (11-18-29) through 41 games with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies this season. He totaled 14 contests with the Griffins between the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons, scoring his only AHL goal on Nov. 30, 2007 at San Antonio.
The Royal Oak, Mich., native and Notre Dame alum will be available to make his 2008-09 Griffins debut tonight when Grand Rapids visits the Quad City Flames at 8:05 p.m. EST.
