Blues Return Andy Wozniewski to Rivermen

ST. LOUIS (February 4, 2009) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned defenseman Andy Wozniewski to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Wozniewski, 28, made his Blues debut on Feb. 3 at Columbus in St. Louis' 4-2 win over the Blue Jackets. He has skated in 43 games for the Rivermen this season, collecting 12 assists along with 40 penalty minutes. The 6-4, 220-pound defenseman has played in 77 National Hockey League games, recording 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) and 81 penalty minutes.

The Buffalo Grove, Illinois native was originally signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs as an undrafted free agent on May 27, 2004. Wozniewski is expected to join the team in time for their game in Chicago tonight.
