Wednesday, Lock Monsters 4 vs. Philadelphia Phantoms 1
Keith Aucoin scored twice and Vitaly Kolesnik stopped 41 shots as the Lock Monsters handed the reigning Calder Cup Champion Philadelphia Phantoms a 4-1 loss at the Tsongas Arena. Lowell snapped a three-game skid with the victory and improved to 2-1 at home.
Friday, Lock Monsters 7 @ Springfield Falcons 3
Andrew Ladd, Chad Larose and Vince Bellissimo each scored twice as the Lock Monsters posted a 7-3 victory in Springfield over the Falcons. The seven-goal outburst fell one shy of the team record. Colin Forbes and Johnny Boychuk both recorded a pair of assists in the effort and Vitaly Kolesnik picked up the win.
Saturday, Lock Monsters 4 @ Providence Bruins 1
Chad Larose scored two goals for the Monsters and former P-Bruin Keith Aucoin also scored as the Lock Monsters downed Providence 4-1. The match opened up the 12-game season series with Providence, with the next meeting on December 3rd at Tsongas Arena. Vitaly Kolesnik stopped 35 shots for his third victory of the week.
Sunday, Binghamton Senators 3 vs. Lock Monsters 2 Craig Adams scored twice for Lowell but it wasn't enough as the Binghamton Senators defeated the Lock Monsters 3-2 on Sunday evening. Former Lock Monster Jeff Heerema scored two first period goals to pace the Sens and Kevin Nastiuk suffered the loss between the pipes.
Monsters Memos
Ryan Steeves was denied on a penalty shot on Friday in Springfield. It was the third penalty shot in the first six Lock Monsters games this season (two by Lowell, one by Portland). None of the shooters have scored.
The Lock Monsters jumped from 6th place to a tie for 2nd place last week, with their 3-1-0-0 week.
Vitaly Kolesnik is tied for second in the league in wins with five and is sixth in the AHL with a..927 save percentage.
Chad Larose extended his point streak to four games with an assist in Sunday's loss. During the stretch he has 5g-2a-7pts, +5, 0 PIM and has a pair of two-goal games. He is tied for the team lead with five goals, tied for second with eight points, and second with a +5.
Notes from "The Show"
Former Lock Monster Eric Staal, who set a Lowell record last season with 77 points, is currently leading the NHL in scoring with 22 points in 11 games. He recorded a hat trick and four assists in a two-game stretch last weekend. He was named the NHL Offensive Player of the Week today.
LW Paul Healey remains in Colorado with the Avalanche, and has missed the last four games for the Lock Monsters. He has played in two games, 0g-0a-0pts, plus/minus - Even, 14 penalty minutes.

Coming Up:
The Lock Monsters are back in action this weekend, hosting Portland on Friday night at 7:35 p.m. They head to Portland on Saturday night, with the action carried live on 980 WCAP with the "Voice of the Lock Monsters" Ryan Johnston.
On Sunday, the Lock Monsters play host to the Norfolk Admirals at 4:05 p.m. The first 500 kids 12 and under will get a free Lock Monsters autograph book. After the game, they can put those books to use with a team autograph session. Every Sunday home game is also a Louie's Little Monsters Kid's Club game, sponsored by Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union. Sunday are also Family Four-Pack Day, where fans can buy 4 tickets, 4 scrumptious hot dogs and 4 refreshing sodas for only $49.
Individual tickets are on sale now at the Tsongas Arena box office, which is open from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
