
Monsters Come Back for 3-2 Win over IceHogs

ROCKFORD, IL - The AHL's Cleveland Monsters beat the Rockford IceHogs 3-2 on Saturday night at BMO Harris Bank Center. With the win, the Monsters are now 14-13-1-2 and are currently in seventh place in the AHL's North Division standings with 31 points.
Rockford scored the only goal of the first period 29 seconds into the game after Jospeh Cramarossa notched a tally to take an early lead.
Cleveland responded with three unanswered tallies in the middle frame starting with Brett Gallant's marker at 4:03 with helpers from Adam Clendening and Derek Barach. The Monsters claimed a 3-0 lead with a Nathan Gerbe power-play tally with assists from Clendening and Trey Fix-Wolansky at 13:15 and an unassisted Stefan Matteau short-handed marker at 15:13.
Cramarossa scored his second goal of the game for the IceHogs on the power play at 7:58 of the third period, but the Monsters held onto the 3-2 lead for the win.
Veini Vehvilainen made 22 saves for the win while Rockford's Kevin Lankinen stopped 27 pucks in the loss.
