
Monarchs Sign Alex Lintuniemi to ATO

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have signed defenseman Alex Lintuniemi to an Amateur Try Out agreement (ATO). He will be available for Friday's game against Portland, wearing number 40.
Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough made the announcement.
Lintuniemi, 19, has spent the last two seasons with the Ottawa 67's of the OHL, collecting 11 goals and 46 assists for 57 points in 126 games total. The native of Helsinki, Finland appeared in 58 games this season (7 goals, 29 assists), helping the 67's to a fourth-place finish in the OHL's Eastern Conference. He represented Finland in the 2015 World Junior Championship and the 2013 Under-18 World Junior Championship, where Finland won the bronze medal. The Kings selected the 6-foot-3 defender in the second round (60th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
The Monarchs will host the Pirates in VIP Cup action tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena before heading to Bridgeport for back-to-back games against the Sound Tigers on Saturday and Sunday.
