IceCaps Entertainment to Host NHL Exhibition Game
April 9, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
St. John's IceCaps News Release
IceCaps Entertainment, a division of the St. John's IceCaps organization, announced today they will host a National Hockey League (NHL) exhibition game between the Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, September 27th.
The game is slated for 6 p.m. at Mile One Centre.
The Senators feature stars such as Erik Karlsson and a host of emerging NHL standouts, while the Hurricanes are led by the Staal brothers - Eric and Jordan - and will likely boast a top-five pick from the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.
The game will mark the second year in a row that IceCaps Entertainment has hosted an NHL exhibition contest, as the Senators and New York Islanders played a pair of pre-season matches last September at Mile One.
"Once again, IceCaps Entertainment is proud to be providing an opportunity for fans right here to watch live NHL action without having to travel outside the province," said IceCaps Governor and COO Glenn Stanford.
"The upstart Ottawa Senators have proven to be one of the biggest surprises of the 2014-15 NHL season, with their gritty and exciting style. The Carolina Hurricanes are a rebuilding club that will bring top-notch prospects, vying for a roster spot on the big club. And as always, this game will feature at least 16 NHL veterans, between both teams. This promises to be an exciting match-up."
Tickets for the NHL exhibition game start at $99.00 plus taxes and surcharges and will be available to IceCaps season ticket holders (or new season ticket holders) during the renewal process which is slated to begin next week.
IceCaps season ticket holders are in a preferred position as they are assured "front of line" access (including advanced ticket sales) to not only this NHL game but for all future IceCaps Entertainment events.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at noon, Saturday, May 2nd.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Mile One Centre box office (noon-5 p.m.), by phone at 709-576-7657 (9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.), or online at www.mileonecentre.com.
