LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
At Albany (11/29): Goaltender Adam Hauser made 35 saves and right wing Petr Kanko scored with 31-seconds left in the game as the Manchester Monarchs topped the Albany River Rats, 3-2, in a shootout at the Pepsi Arena on Tuesday night. Manchester's left wing Noah Clarke scored in both regulation and the shootout. Center Yanick Lehoux scored the go-ahead goal in the shootout for the Monarchs. Albany's center Ivan Khomutov and right wing Aleksander Suglobov collected tallies. Right wing Aaron Voros scored the lone shootout goal for the River Rats. Hauser's 35 saves earned him his ninth victory of the season. River Rat's goaltender Frank Doyle took his seventh loss of the season with 29 saves. Manchester went 1-for-7 on the power play. Albany was also 1-for-7 with the man advantage.
Vs. Hartford (12/2): Defenseman Richard Petiot snapped in his third of the season to lift the Manchester Monarchs past the Hartford Wolf Pack, 2-1 in overtime at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. Monarchs' right wing Ryan Murphy scored a shorthanded goal at 16:45 of the first period for his second of the season. At 14:12 of the second period, center Jarkko Immonen tied the game at 1-1 with a one-timer in the slot. Monarchs' goaltender Adam Hauser earned his tenth victory with 32 saves. Wolf Pack's goaltender Robert Gherson took his first loss of the season stopping 32 shots. Manchester went 0-for-7 on the power play. Hartford was 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
Vs. Springfield (12/3): Forward Jim Campbell scored the only goal of the game in overtime and goaltender Gerald Coleman recorded his first professional shutout as the Springfield Falcons beat the Manchester Monarchs, 1-0, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday night. This is the first game this season that the Monarchs have been held scoreless. Monarchs' goaltender Adam Hauser collected 24 saves in the game. Manchester went 0-for-7 on the power play. Springfield was 0-for-10 with the man advantage.
At Portland (12/4): Center Tim Brent scored with less than one-second remaining in the game to lift the Portland Pirates over the Manchester Monarchs 3-2 at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Sunday evening. Monarchs center Connor James collected his sixth goal of the season and right wing Brad Smyth recorded his 300th AHL goal. Along with Brent, right wings Pierre Parenteau and Corey Perry registered tallies for the Pirates. Monarchs' goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji, in his second AHL game, took the loss stopping 35 shots. Pirates' goaltender Nathan Marsters earned his ninth win of the season with 36 saves. The Pirates snapped the Monarchs 13-game unbeaten in regulation streak (10-0-1-2), dating back to November 10. Manchester went 0-for-5 on the power play. Portland was 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

12/6/05: Defenseman Mark Ardelan and Brad Fast will assist in the Manchester Flames Squirt 2 practice at the JFK Ice Arena on Tuesday, December 6 from 5:45 - 7 p.m. The players will also visit with fans and sign autographs.
12/8/05: Monarchs defenseman Richard Seeley, center Yanick Lehoux and right wings Brad Smyth and Lauri Tukonen will be at the Catholic Medical Center (CMC) on Thursday, December 8 from 12 - 3 p.m. signing autographs and visiting with fans as part of CMC's Employee Day.
MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES
The Monarchs (15-4-1-3, 34 points) are tied for first place with the Portland Pirates (16-6-2-0, 34 points) in the Atlantic.
The club has sent 15 out of their 23 games into overtime and/or a shootout this season, winning 11 out of those 15 games.
The Monarchs' 13-game undefeated in regulation streak came to an end on Sunday as the Pirates scored with less than one second remaining in the game. Tied for the franchise record, the Monarchs posted a record of 10-0-1-2 during the streak.
Manchester has only won four games in regulation.
At home, the Monarchs are undefeated in regulation when they are out-shot by the opponent (7-0-0-0), leading after the first period (5-0-0-0), trailing after the second period (4-0-0-1), in one-goal games (7-0-1-1) and when they face an Atlantic Division opponent (6-0-1-1).
On the road, the Monarchs are undefeated when they out-shoot the opponent (3-0-0-0).
The Monarchs are undefeated when scoring shorthanded (4-0-0-0) and when they allow a shorthanded goal (4-0-0-0).
Manchester is undefeated (7-0-0-0) when they score five or more goals.
With special teams, the Monarchs' power play is ranked 26th in the League, capitalizing 18 times on 149 opportunities with the man advantage. Ranked 18th in penalty killing, Manchester has given up 29 goals on 163 opportunities.
The Monarchs are ranked first in the AHL in attendance after eleven home games, averaging 8,269 fans per game. Over the last four years, the Monarchs have been in the top three in attendance, leading the AHL twice. During the 2003-04 season, Manchester led all of North American minor league pro hockey with an average of 9,141 fans per game.
Left wing Jeff Tambellini (14-11=25) leads the team with 14 goals and 25 points and is currently with the Los Angeles Kings.
A former University of Michigan Wolverine, Tambellini is ranked second in the AHL among rookies, eighth among goal scorers and 12th in scoring with 25 points (14-11=25) in 18 games.
Right wing Brad Smyth (7-15=22) leads the team with 15 assists.
At 6-foot, 200-pounds, Smyth recorded his 300th AHL goal on December 4 in the Monarchs 3-2 loss to the Pirates. Smyth has 300 goals, 304 assists, 604 points and 649 penalty minutes in 553 AHL games over 10 seasons.
Goaltender Adam Hauser is first on the Monarchs all-time goaltenders list with 90 games played, 49 wins, 5344:32 minutes played, 12 shutouts and a goals-against-average of 2.10.
