
Monarchs Release Darling

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have released goaltender Curtis Darling from his professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Darling, 24, played in 32 minutes of the Monarchs game on March 29 and stopped all 12 shots he faced from the Norfolk Admirals. Prior to joining Manchester, Darling appeared in 26 games with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, collecting a 7-16-3 record, a 3.63 goals-against-average and a .914 save-percentage. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, also played 15 minutes in a game with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season and made four saves. Darling started the season with the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) and registered a 3-4-0 record, a 2.93 goals-against-average and a .881 save-percentage in eight games. Following three seasons at the University of Waterloo (2004-07), he played in parts of two games with the ECHL's Reading Royals during the 2006-07 season.
