Rockford IceHogs News Release

Moline, Ill.- Another season series will come to a close for the Rockford IceHogs tonight when the team travels to the i-wireless Center in Moline to take on the Quad City Flames. This season series hasn't gone as smoothly for the IceHogs compared to most others.

Entering tonight's game, Rockford is 2-4-0-1 against their holdover rivals, including 1-2-0-0 in Quad City. Rockford currently sits in second place in the AHL's West Division with a magic number to clinch a Calder Cup Playoff spot of six points.

The IceHogs 90 points, however, is just two ahead of the Milwaukee Admirals, Houston Aeros and San Antonio Rampage. Despite being four-games over .500, the Flames are struggling to hang on in the Western Conference playoff race. Quad City has 77 points, but their tragic number to get eliminated from the Calder Cup Playoff race is four points.

Tonight's game marks the beginning of the second to final weekend of the 2007-08 AHL regular season. After tonight, Rockford will only have one more road game remaining on the regular season slate, next Saturday in Chicago against the Wolves.

To listen to tonight's contest tune into 1330 AM WNTA or on the web by clicking here. The game can be viewed through the B2 Networks for just $6 or at Damon's Grill in Rockford.

Next Home Game: Saturday, April 5 vs. San Antonio Rampage. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. A key West Division match-up at the MetroCentre as the IceHogs and Rampage meet for the final time in the regular season. The game is the IceHogs Charitable Foundation's annual Jersey Auction presented by Saturn as the IceHogs wear special jerseys that will be auctioned following the game. The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick up a jersey auction t-shirt courtesy of Saturn of Rockford, Dental Dimensions, Alpha Controls & Services and 13 WREX.
