Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI - The Milwaukee Admirals have a Heroes Weekend planned at the Bradley Center as the team hits the ice for a pair of games with massive playoff implications beginning with a 7:30 pm contest with the Houston Aeros on Saturday night followed by a 4:00 pm game against the San Antonio Rampage on Sunday afternoon. The Admirals, Rampage, and Aeros are all currently tied for third place in the AHL's West Division with just over a week to play in the regular season.
Highlighting the Hero's Weekend will be special Police/Fire Fighter themed jerseys that the Admirals will wear at both of their games. The team will hold a silent auction for the jerseys that will conclude with five minutes remaining in the second intermission on Sunday and the winning bidders will have the opportunity to meet the player and get the jersey autographed following the game.
The Admirals will host their first annual Blood Drive on Saturday from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm in the East Atrium of the Bradley Center. Any person who donates blood will receive a pair of tickets to a 2008-09 Admirals game. Following the Blood Drive will be "Battle of the Badges" hockey game which pits local police versus local firemen at 3:30. The Battle for the Badges is free with a ticket to the Admirals game and $5 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Southeastern Wisconsin.
The first 3,500 fans through the gates on Saturday evening will receive a bobblehead of former Admirals Executive Vice-President/General Manager Phil Wittliff, courtesy of M&I Bank and Milwaukee's own Pat McCurdy will perform in the east atrium before and after the game and during intermissions.
Sunday's contest is a Foley & Lardner Family Day and Skate where fans can get four tickets, four sodas, and four hot dogs for just $40 and then after the game anyone who brings their skates can take a lap on the Bradley Center ice. Foley and Lardner Family Packages must be ordered 24 hours in advance. Also, the first 3,500 fans will receive an Admirals Sieve Hand, courtesy of Basic Metals.
In addition, Claude Scott the Happy Trumpeter will perform his shtick at both of this weekend's games.
