Monarchs Recall Munce

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have recalled goaltender Ryan Munce from the ECHL's Reading Royals and released goaltender Jason Poirier from his professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Munce, 21, has appeared in 14 games with the Royals this season collecting a 4-6-4 record, a 3.17 goals-against-average and a .881 save percentage. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, spent the 2005-06 season with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors and registered a 30-18-5 record, a 2.78 goals-against-average and a .919 save percentage in 55 games.

Poirier, 39, played under Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris at Clarkson University during the 1988-89 season collecting a record of 7-5-1 with a goals-against-average of 3.50. The 5-foot-8, 190-pound native of Berlin, New Hampshire, played two games with the New Haven Blackhawks of the AHL during the 1989-90 season. Poirier served as the backup goaltender for the Monarchs on Friday, December 15.
