
Flames Recall Ference, Re-Assign Prust

The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, have recalled defenseman Brad Ference and re-assigned left wing Brandon Prust to Omaha. The announcement was made by Flames' General Manager Darryl Sutter.
Ference has played in all 26 games for the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights this season, totaling one goal and nine assists for ten points. He also has a team-leading 81 penalty minutes. The Calgary native signed with the Flames as a free agent in July of 2006. He has 245 games of NHL experience with Florida and Phoenix, scoring four goals and 30 assists while earning 563 penalty minutes.
Prust has played in ten games with Calgary this season totaling 25 penalty minutes and a +1 rating. He played his first NHL career game on November 1st against the Detroit Red Wings. In Omaha this year, the 5'11" 191 lbs winger has recorded four goals and four assists while accumulating 50 penalty minutes in 15 games. During his rookie pro season in 2005-06, he played in all but one game for the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, scoring 12 goals and 26 points. The native of London, Ontario had a team-leading 294 penalty minutes.
In other transaction news, the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights signed defenseman Ryan Bonni to a professional try out today. Bonni had been skating for the Knights' ECHL affiliate, the Las Vegas Wranglers, where he earned two goals and 14 assists for 16 points in 18 games. The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba has played previously in the AHL for Syracuse, Manitoba, St. John's, Grand Rapids and Milwaukee. He was originally the Vancouver Canucks' second pick, 34th overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
The Knights' are back home tonight to welcome the Iowa Stars at 7:00 p.m. The Knights also will host the Second Annual Teddy Bear Toss sponsored by Holiday Inn Central Convention Center. Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear to the game and toss it on the ice when the Knights' score their first goal. The bears will be collected and donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Nebraska.
Tickets for all Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' games are on sale at the Omaha Civic Auditorium box office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets also are available through all Ticketmaster outlets and by phone at (402) 422-1212. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult on tickets purchased after 5:00 p.m. Other restrictions apply.
