Bridgeport, CT - Jeff Tambellini scored three times for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (12-9-1-3) in a 6-4 comeback victory over the Lowell Devils (14-12-2-1) Saturday night at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

Lowell pounced on the Sound Tigers in the first frame, opening up a three-goal advantage and chasing starting G Michael Mole from the game after less than 12 minutes. Ryan Murphy scored the first goal of the night at 7:29. Murphy then set up Barry Tallackson with a pair of goals at 7:58 and 11:52. Devils G Jordan Parise got the start in net, and stopped eight shots in the first, surrendering a late tally to Tambellini to make it 3-1 after 20 minutes.

The Sound Tigers returned the favor in the second, scoring three times in the first five minutes of the period and sending Parise to the Devils bench in favor of Frank Doyle. Parise had stopped eight of 12 Bridgeport shots before being replaced. Trailing 4-3 late in the frame, Dan McGillis tied the game for Lowell on the power play, sending a rocket through traffic from the blueline for his sixth of the season at 15:11. Tallackson assisted on the tally for his fourth point of the evening, tying a team-season high. Only 2:11 later, however, Steve Re! gier put the Sound Tigers back in front for good with a power play goal of his own to make it 5-4 after two periods.

Tambellini notched his third of the game at 7:12 of the third to lift the Sound Tigers to a 6-4 advantage. The Devils pulled Doyle late in the game, but couldn't get any closer, and Bridgeport improved to 2-0 against Lowell this season. Doyle suffered the loss in relief for the Devils, who drop to third place in the division with Manchester beating Worcester tonight to climb alone into second place. Providence also lost, to remain tied with the Devils with 31 points, s! etting the stage for tomorrow's match at Tsongas Arena.
