Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have promoted Cheryl Abbott to the club's Vice President of Community Affairs, Monarchs President Jeff Eisenberg announced today. Abbott has been a member of the Monarchs front office since November of 2003, when she took on the role as the club's Community Relations Director. Over the past two years, she has been an integral part of incorporating the Monarchs into the Manchester community and the state of New Hampshire, orchestrating special events (Ace Bailey Golf Tournament, Hockey 101: For Women Only, etc.) and overseeing all fundraising activities and the disbursement of funds to local community organizations. Abbott will continue her exemplary role in the community and with the Monarchs Care Foundation, as well as oversee and direct day-to-day operations of the Kids Club and maintain a leadership role in the area of customer service and hospitality.
"Cheryl plays a very important role in our organization and we are proud to recognize her efforts with this promotion," said Eisenberg. "Her work is consistently excellent and her professional approach is key to developing the Monarchs Care Foundation and the Monarchs in the state of New Hampshire and in the professional hockey industry."
Prior to joining the Monarchs staff, Abbott spent four years with Heritage United Way and 10 years in the community relations department of Fleet Bank. She managed multi-million dollar campaigns and charitable contributions, coordinated promotional activities and supervised statewide employee volunteer programs, while working with high profile athletes such as Mo Vaughn of the Boston Red Sox, Cam Neely of the Boston Bruins and Antoine Walker of the Boston Celtics while at Fleet Bank.
