GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Tuesday signed defenseman Jon Insana to a professional tryout; signed forward Patrick Jarrett to an amateur tryout; signed defenseman Nick Martens and forwards Brad Bonello and Ryan Keller to two-way contracts with ECHL Stockton, ECHL Toledo and UHL Muskegon, respectively; and released right wing Ryan Barnes.
Insana, 25, begins his fourth pro season overall and his second with the Griffins. Last season, he notched one assist in eight games with Grand Rapids and 21 points (9-12-21) in 64 games with Muskegon, helping the Fury capture their second straight UHL championship.
