Admirals to attend military luncheon, tour USS Norfolk

NORFOLK, VA - On Wednesday, October 5th, the Admirals will attend a military luncheon at the Norfolk Naval Station between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The players and coaches will also have the rare opportunity to tour the USS Norfolk submarine.

During the luncheon, military personnel at the base will be able to meet and dine with the 2005-06 Admirals squad. The luncheon is being hosted by the Norfolk Naval Station's Commanding Officer, Captain Loyd Pyle and MWR Office.

Afterwards, the coaching staff and players will be taken aboard the USS Norfolk (SSN-714), a Los Angeles-class attack submarine built locally at the Newport News Shipyard. The Norfolk's Commanding Officer is CDR Scott F. Adams.

The Admirals begin their sixth AHL campaign with a pair of home matches against East Division rival Bridgeport (NY Islanders) this Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th at 7:15 p.m. each night. Norfolk's full schedule is available online at www.norfolkadmirals.com.
