McCormick reassigned to Lowell

DENVER, Colo. - The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has reassigned forward Cody McCormick to Lowell of the American Hockey League.

McCormick, 22, is entering his third season in the pro ranks, all of which have been sent with the Avalanche organization. Last season, the native of London, Ontario potted five goals and 11 points in 40 games with the Hershey Bears in the AHL. After completing his junior career with the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League, McCormick split his rookie season in 2003-04 between Hershey and Colorado in the NHL, where he played in 44 games.

He has 20 points in 72 career AHL contests.

Only 10 days remain until Opening Night for the Lock Monsters on October 14th against the Manchester Monarchs at the Tsongas Arena. Individual tickets are now on sale at the Tsongas Arena box office, which opens at 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Full season, 20-game, mini-plans and Flex Packs are now on sale. The Lock Monsters will donate $3 of every individual and group ticket purchased for an October home game to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief fund.
