
Rangers reassign players from training camp roster

New York, October 3, 2005 -- New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has reassigned two players from their training camp roster to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL); forward Jarkko Immonen and defenseman Joe Rullier. The Rangers now have 24 players remaining in training camp, including two goaltenders, eight defensemen and 14 forwards. The Rangers finished their exhibition schedule with a 2-3-1 record after beating the New Jersey Devils last night, 3-2. New York opens its 2005-06 regular season schedule on Wednesday, October 5 in Philadelphia. The Rangers home opener is slated for Thursday, October 6 vs. the Montreal Canadiens at 7:00 PM. The NHL's New York Rangers hockey club, entering its 80th year of operation, is part of Madison Square Garden, L.P. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns Madison Square Garden, L.P., which also includes the New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the Hartford Wolf Pack (American Hockey League), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex, located in the heart of the New York metropolitan area.

Goaltender Dan Blackburn announced his retirement from professional hockey on Sunday, September 25, due to nerve damage in his left shoulder.
