Penguins sign Arpad Mihaly

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed left wing Arpad Mihaly, it was announced today by team CEO Jeff Barrett. In accordance with club policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Mihaly, 25, spent last season with the Binghamton Senators, recording four points (3+1) in 43 regular season games. He has played parts of three American Hockey League seasons with the Senators and Philadelphia Phantoms, recording 23 points (11+12) and 28 penalty minutes in 101 games.

The 6-4, 220-pound native of Miercurea, Romania has also tallied 75 points (27+48) and 92 penalty minutes in parts of four seasons with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).

Mihaly, who played hockey locally at Wyoming Seminary, was the Penguins' preseason leader with five goals and eight points in five games.

The Penguins open their seventh season in the American Hockey League tomorrow night, October 5, when they host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:05pm. Approximately 300 seats remain for the contest.
