HEAD-TO-HEAD - The Monarchs and Royals will meet for the fifth time this season, with both teams winning two games each. The last time the division rivals met, Reading came out with a 6-4 win at Santander Arena on Feb. 3. The Monarchs come into tonight's game 8-2-0-0 in their last 10 games, while Reading enters tonight 6-3-1-0 in their last 10 games.

WHERE WE STAND - The Monarchs begin the third week of February in first place in the East Division for the third consecutive week, holding a five point advantage over Adirondack. Reading enters the week in third place with a record of 24-19-4-3 (55 pts.). The Monarchs (65 pts.) enter tonight trailing the Florida Everblades (67 pts.) by two points for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

LET THERE BE GOALS - Despite, the contrast in overall record this season, the Royals have scored the second-most goals in the Eastern Conference (151), trailing only the Monarchs (154) for tops in the Conference.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS (ON THE ROAD) - With the Monarchs playing two of their four games this week in Reading, the man-advantage could prove vital in grabbing points heading into the weekend. On the season, Manchester sits 4th in the ECHL in road power-play percentage, scoring on 17 of 79 chances (21.5%) in 25 road games this season.

Reading checks in at 18th in the league in home penalty killing (82.4%), allowing 16 PPGs in 91 chances.

FLIP THE SCRIPT AFTER 2 - Leading after two periods for the Monarchs this season has been important, as the team has played to a 19-0-0-2 record when taking the lead into the third period. While no team wants to be trailing heading into the final frame, the Monarchs lead the ECHL with seven, third period comebacks.

For Reading, the final result of the game can pretty much be determined by the score after two periods. The Royals are 17-1-2-1 when leading after two, but are 1-17-2-1 when trailing after the second period.

KITSY STILL ON FIRE - Maxim Kitsyn remains red hot, as the forward has scored a point in eight-straight games (5g, 4a), and is riding a season-high four-game goal streak (5g), the second longest active streak in the league. Kitsyn has also scored in 14-of-15 games since Jan. 6, netting 10 goals and dishing out seven assists. Kitsyn leads the Monarchs and ECHL in shots on goal (166), but in all four games he has not recorded a shot this season, he has grabbed at least one assist (5a).
