MANCHESTER, N.H. - Doug Carr's 32 saves weren't enough, as the Manchester Monarchs were blanked by the Adirondack Thunder, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

The Monarchs (16-9-0-1) split their home-and-home series against the Thunder (15-3-1-1) with both teams winning on the road.

"The game came down to little things, and we came up a bit short," Head Coach Rich Seeley said. "We were disciplined in our play and made one mistake. Unfortunately, that mistake made its way into the back of our net."

After two scoreless periods, the Thunder took a late 1-0 lead at 11:36 in the third period. Michael Kirkpatrick netted his 9th goal of the season, putting the puck past Carr with a shot from the left point.

Dana Fraser solidified the 2-0 win for the Thunder with an empty-net goal from the slot at 19:45 in the third period, netting his 3rd goal of the season

The Monarchs hit the road this week, and visit Kalamazoo, Mich. for a Thursday morning (10:30 a.m.) game with the Wings.
