TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
Tonight the Oilers will face the hottest team in the ECHL when they attempt to break Missouri's 14-game win streak. This will be the fourth meeting between the two division competitors this season. The Oilers spilt a win and loss against the Idaho Steelheads on Friday and Saturday while the Mavericks have not participated in a game in over a week. This season, Tulsa stands 1-1-1-0 against Missouri.
CARR CONTINUES
Kevin Carr has made nine consecutive starts in net and ranks fourth in the ECHL with a 1.88 goals against average. Carr has played 831 minutes this season, owning a 7-7-0-0 record.
CHRISTIE BREAKS RECORD
This weekend Head Coach Jason Christie broke John Marks', a 2012 inductee into the ECHL Hall of Fame, ECHL record for most coached victories. Coach Christie holds the title at 492 wins in the span of 13 ECHL seasons (Peoria, Utah, Ontario and Tulsa). Christie's teams have won 40 or more games eight times, and he has led his squad to the Kelly Cup Playoffs 10 times.
BROWNIE POINTS
Right-winger Dennis Brown continues to climb up the point ladder. Brown leads the Oilers with 14 assists and has recorded a +11. The Western Michigan University product spent the last two seasons under Coach Christie's wing as well when he played for the Ontario Reign. In 47 games during the 2014-2015 campaign, Brownie registered 14 assists total- his current number in only 18 games with Tulsa.
OIL DROPS
Tonight after the contest against Missouri, Oilers fans will participate in Tulsa's first ever "Paint the Ice" Party... Wednesday the Tulsa Oilers were assigned rookie defenseman Aaron Harstad from the Manitoba Moose... Oilers lead the league with no shorthanded goals allowed...The Oilers are 7-0-0-0 when leading after the second period... Adam Pleskach leads Tulsa with 16 points...Oilers are with with 27.05 shots-against per game...
