Monarchs Announce Roster Move

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that the team has officially acquired Peter Leblanc in a trade with the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) that took place prior to the ECHL Trade Deadline on Mar. 9.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Leblanc, 29, comes to the Monarchs after scoring 30 points on 10 goals and 20 assists in 42 games this season with the Cyclones. Leblanc played in Europe for the previous two seasons with Rögle BK (Allsvenskan) and HPK (Liiga), where he scored 28 points on eight goals and 20 assists.

The 5-foot-11, 207-pound native of Hamilton, Ontario, played four seasons at the University of New Hampshire where he was named captain his senior season. With the Wildcats, Leblanc scored 85 points on 34 goals and 51 assists. In his professional career, Leblanc has played 261 career AHL games with the Rockford IceHogs and Hershey Bears where he scored 132 points on 60 goals and 72 assists. The left-shot forward also played one NHL game with the Washington Capitals.

Leblanc was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round (#186 overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry draft.
