March 16, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced two defensemen are returning from the American Hockey League. The Ducks have reassigned D Mark Mitera to the Condors from the Abbotsford Heat, and D Sasha Pokulok has been reassigned to Bakersfield by the San Antonio Rampage. Both are expected to be in the lineup on Wednesday.
Mitera, 22, is in his first full professional season, and spent much of the campaign in Bakersfield. He has 3g-10a-13pts in 32 games with the Condors this season, ranking third among the team's blueliners in scoring. Mitera was reassigned to Abbotsford on Jan. 31. He has three assists in 19 games with the Heat, and four penalty minutes. He started the season with San Antonio, appearing in five games.
Pokulok, 23, returns from his second stint in the AHL this season, where he skated in eight games with the Rampage. He had 2g-1a-3pts with five penalty minutes and a +8, and was signed to an AHL contract by the Rampage last week. In 15 AHL games this season, the Vaud-Dorion,
Quebec, native has 2g-6a-8pts. Pokulok has skated in just three games with the Condors since Jan. 16, though he still ranks second among Condors defensemen in goals (11), assists (17) and points (28). He represented the Condors as a starter for the National Conference at the ECHL All-Star Game.
