Ianiero Bobblehead Giveaway And Hockey-Thon Highlight Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif." The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, are in a heated playoff battle in the Pacific Division. Just two points ahead of Las Vegas for first in the division, the Condors play three games at home this week. They begin on Wednesday against the Ontario Reign for St. Patrick's Day Happy Hourwith a special start time of 6 p.m., and doors opening at 5 p.m. The weekend features a two-game matchup against the Victoria Salmon Kings. Friday is Andrew Ianiero Bobblehead Giveawayand Saturday is Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-thon. Both weekend games begin at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the Condors, presented by ABC23, 98.5 The Fox, and Bud Light, at Rabobank Arena. From doors opening at 5 p.m. until the puck drops at 6 p.m., half-price beer specials will be in effect in collectible Condors St. Patty's Day cups. All night long, hot dogs are available for just $1. Catch the West High School Choir as they perform the National Anthem before the drop of the puck. Watch the Bakersfield Dragons Mite Youth Hockey squad show their stuff during the first intermission.

Friday marks one of the most sought-after promotions of the season, Andrew Ianiero Bobblehead Giveaway, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Goodwill Industries. The first 2,000 kids 12

and underwill receive a bobblehead of the Condors captain. To ensure your kids gets their bobblehead, be sure to purchase your tickets and arrive to the game early. During the first intermission former Condors, including Paul Rosebush, Paul Willett, Glen Mears and Scott Haywill participate in an alumni shootout to promote the weekend's Hockey-Thon festivities. Following the Barber Honda and Bakersfield Californian Chuck-A-Puck, the US Armywill perform a Swear In at center ice. The evening's National Anthem will be sung by students from Colonel Nichols Elementary School. Doors open at 6 p.m. The Bakersfield Ice Sports Center In-House Mites will take to the ice between the first and second periods.

Friday also marks the first annual Scout Sleepover! Scouts will be attending Friday night's game, then spending the night in the arena during the scout "camp out," Condorstown style!

The weekend games conclude on Saturday with the Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-thon, presented by 29Eyewitness News, KUZZ 107.9 and the Bakersfield Californian. This game will wrap up 24-plus straight hours of hockey, as the Condors look to raise money for Links for Lifein the battle against breast cancer.

The event will include a Condors Alumni / Celebrity Game Hockey, featuring former Condors Scott Borders, Jamie Cooke, Glen Mears, Scott Hay, Mike Hofstrand, Paul Rosebush and Paul Willettamong others playing along with local celebrities, including Californian scribe Mike Griffith, ABC23 anchor Chris Van Horne, City Manager Alan Tandyand more, prior to the Condors game to raise money to fight breast cancer. The alumni/celebrity game starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Rabobank Arena, doors open at 4:45 p.m. Alumni Game-worn jerseys of Paul Willett, Paul Rosebush, Mike Hofstrand and Jamie Cooke will be auctioned off live during the intermissions. Plus, Links for Life will be holding a silent auction throughout the game on the concourse, behind section 110.

All fans at the Condors game will receive a Cheer Sign Giveaway. Performing the National Anthem before the game will be the Frontier High School Band.In addition, the Bakersfield Blades figure skaters will also perform during the first intermission.

Saturday's game also marks Mercy & Memorial Hospitals, Wells Fargo Bank and Diamond Technologies Turn Hockey Into New KnowledgeT.H.I.N.K. Night, dedicated to providing complimentary tickets to students at participating schools who achieve exceptional performances in the classroom. Plus, the team will host Season Ticket Holder Skate with the Condors. All season ticket holders are invited to take the ice with the team immediately following the game (limited skate rental available for $5 per pair).

Following every game, Condors players will be at the Bakersfield Marriott Autograph Booth, located on the arena concourse behind section 108. D Evan Stoflet and D Ken Morinwill be at the booth on Wednesday, F Andrew Ianiero and F Matt McCuewill be signing on Friday and RW Erick Lizon and F Ryan Meneiwill be available on Saturday. The players will arrive at the booth approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the game to meet fans and sign autographs.
