Cyclones Have Van Guilder Recalled By Milwaukee

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon that forward Mark Van Guilder has been recalled by the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL).

Van Guilder, 25, is in his second professional season, having appeared in 21 games with Milwaukee this year. He has collected four assists with the Admirals. Last season, Mark appeared in 65 games with the Cyclones, leading the team with 26 goals and 44 assists for 70 points. Three of his goals were overtime scores. This season, he has played twelve games with the Cyclones, notching four goals and adding five assists for nine points.

The six-foot-two, 205 pound native of Roseville, MN, played four seasons at Notre Dame, earning four varsity letters and racking up 42 goals and 56 assists for 98 points in 163 games. Van Guilder and current Cyclone Brock Sheahan played for a Fighting Irish squad that advanced to the National Championship game in 2007-08.

In other Cyclones news, forward Mathieu Aubin has been activated off the three day injured list. Defenseman Jamie Coghlan has been placed on the three day injured list.

The Cyclones play host to a pair of games this week. Thursday night (March 18), it is a Thirsty Thursday with cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Miller High Life priced at one dollar each. Saturday night (March 20), Cincinnati hosts Toledo on a Kids Eat Free promotion. Each child age twelve and under receives a coupon good for a John Morrell hot dog, bag of Grippos potato chips and a can of orange Crush. Faceoff each night is at 7:30pm.

Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones have selected Friday night games carried on ESPN 1530 and all contests aired on their website at www.cycloneshockey.com. The next game carried on ESPN 1530 will be Friday, April 2 when Johnstown visits at 7:30pm on Fan Appreciation Night.
