Rookie Defenseman Brian Kilburg Released From Ontario

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, announced today that they have released rookie defenseman Brian Kilburg from his contract for the 2009-2010 season and placed him on waivers. While with the Reign, Kilburg recorded one assist and 40 penalty minutes in the 39 games he appeared in. Kilburg played in his first professional game on October 16, 2009 against the Bakersfield Condors and recorded his first professional point with an assist on January 22, 2010 against the Utah Grizzlies.

Before joining the Reign, Kilburg played three seasons with the Tri-City Storm (USHL), posting 57 points (21g, 36a) and 363 penalty minutes in 176 regular season games. The defenseman from Mendota Heights, MN, spent four season with Minnesota State University Mankato (NCAA) from 2005-2009, appearing in 137 games and recording 33 points (5g, 28a) and 257 penalty minutes.
