Taylor Recalled To AHL Syracuse

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Danny Taylor has bee recalled to the Gladiators' American Hockey League affiliate Syracuse Crunch. This is Taylor's fifth stint with the Crunch this season after being recalled October 14-23, December 11-20, January 12-18, and February 26-27. Taylor has played 164 minutes in four games with the Crunch this season, turning in a 1-1-0 record with a 3.66 goals against average and a.870 save percentage. He was originally assigned to the Gladiators on October 5th.

In 36 games with Gwinnett this season, Taylor owns a 17-13-5 record, a 3.45 goals against average, and a.903 save percentage. He has recorded one shutout this season in a 3-0 victory over the Wheeling Nailers on December 11th.

Taylor made his professional debut with the Bakersfield Condors in 2006 after three junior seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. The fourth-year pro has had stints with Bakersfield, Reading, Texas, Wheeling, as well as Gwinnett in the ECHL and has appeared in 40 AHL games with the Crunch and the Manchester Monarchs since the 2006-07 season, compiling a 20-10-4 with record with a 2.57 goals against average, a.915 save percentage and four shutouts. The 7th round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft appeared in one NHL game with the Kings in March of 2008.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Saturday, March 20th vs. Trenton at 7:05 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
