Atlanta Gladiators News Release

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that defenseman Tim Filangieri has been recalled by the team's American Hockey League affiliate Chicago Wolves. Filangieri returns to the Wolves after being assigned to Gwinnett in November. In 49 outings with the Gladiators, he recorded three assists and 55 penalty minutes.

A 22-year-old Islip Terrace, New York native, Filangieri appeared in one game with the Gladiators' other AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, before being dealt to the Wolves in October. He then appeared in three games with the Wolves, serving four penalty minutes, before being assigned to the Gladiators early on in the season. Filangieri has recorded six penalty minutes in five total AHL games.

Filangieri made his pro debut in one game with the Crunch last season following his senior year at Boston College. While at BC, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound defenseman scored three goals and 17 assists and added 165 penalty minutes in 157 total games. Prior to BC, he scored 16 points and served 164 penalty minutes in 101 junior games with the Waterloo Blackhawks of the United States Hockey League from 2003 to 2005.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Saturday, March 20th vs. Trenton at 7:05 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
