Birthday Boy: Happy 25th birthday to Chanclas infielder Mauricio Dubon! In 88 games with San Antonio, he is batting .303 with 14 home runs, 19 doubles, and 43 RBI. He also made his Major League debut with Milwaukee on July 7 and appeared in two games before being optioned back to San Antonio.
Being Consistent: After starting out 0-for-9, Chanclas utility man Hernan Perez has made up for that by being one of the most consistent hitters on the team during their win streak. Since July 7, he has hit safely in eight of those nine games. Over that stretch, he is batting .314 (11-for-35) with six doubles and two RBI. He has also recorded two multi-hit games during that stretch. He went 2-for-4 against Omaha on June 14 and 3-for-4 against Nashville in last night's game.
Get By With a Little Help from My Friends: The month of July has seen a rise in the success of the Chanclas bullpen. Through 15 games, San Antonio's relievers have combined for an 8-1 record and a 2.26 ERA. Along the way, they have coverted seven saves out of nine opportunities. The most wins for the Flying Chanclas bullpen came in May when they recorded 11. In the same month, they converted 10 saves, which currently stands as team high. Through the first 15 games of this month, Chanclas starters have combined for a 3-3 record and 5.51 ERA.
Career Year: Tonight's starter Thomas Jankins has the chance to set a new career high for wins in a season heading into tonight's start. His ten wins this season (one with Biloxi, nine with San Antonio) is tied for the most in his career. He also had ten wins with Double-A Biloxi in 2018.
