Misiewicz Earns First Triple-A Win as Rainiers Claim Opener over Bees

Tacoma, WA - Left-handed starter Anthony Misiewicz allowed one run in his first six innings on Saturday before being chased in the seventh, but the Tacoma Rainiers strung together six runs in the late innings to secure a 9-4 victory over the Salt Lake Bees at Smith's Ballpark, earning Misiewicz his first Triple-A win.

Misiewicz (1-1) made his second start for Tacoma after surrendering six runs in less than two innings at Reno on May 20. On Saturday, the 24-year-old gave up four hits through his first six one-run frames and made it 6 2/3 innings but was charged with two additional runs in the seventh before right-hander Tayler Scott recorded the third out to preserve a 4-3 Tacoma (23-26) lead.

The Rainiers jumped out to a lead in the third when Braden Bishop doubled home Tacoma newcomer Luis Liberato. Bishop finished 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and Liberato went 2-for-4 in his Triple-A debut after getting transferred from Advanced-A Modesto before Saturday's contest. Tim Lopes singled home Robert Perez and Austin Nola's sacrifice fly scored Bishop for a 3-0 advantage.

Salt Lake (22-26) scored its first run in the fifth and the Rainiers got that run back when Perez doubled in Liberato for his first Triple-A RBI in the seventh. Liberato combined with Perez, who was promoted from Extended Spring Training on Friday, to finish 4-for-8 with four runs in the victory.

Tacoma added a run in the eighth when Kristopher Negron scored on a throwing error from first baseman Justin Bour, and the Rainiers poured on four runs in the ninth with a two-run double from Dylan Moore, an RBI knock from Nola and a sacrifice fly lifted by Negron to provide plenty of insurance.

Matt Festa closed out the contest with a scoreless ninth, striking out a pair of Bees.

The Rainiers will play for their second consecutive victory against Salt Lake on Sunday at 12:05 p.m. PDT.
